I'm so glad I had the bone density test done!

I'm not going to be on this weekend - just too depressed....

Hate this disease! Hate life! Hate pred right now!

That just stinks!

You can't get second opinions fast enough! Here's hoping the Mayo Clinic can sort things out - and protect your bones from further damage ASAP.

Default another fracture

Hi Erin,
I am so sorry to hear you have another fracture!!! Freakin MG and Pred. I understand why you are depressed but know you are in my prayers and try to keep thinking positive. I know it is SOOO hard. My neuro just upped my Pred to 60 mg and the problems you're having scare me to death. My biggest problem is insomnia and feeling like I'm retaining water but the long term effects are even scarier. Try to get some rest and know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Default I'm sorry

Hey Erin,

I'm so sorry that you have another fracture, and that you felt like your pain was being ignored. Prednisone does totally suck! I went for a bone scan too a few weeks ago because my bones keep crackling/snapping, and my back is killing me! My neuro. is tapering my dose down now (down to 50mgs), but I feel like we couldn't be doing this fast enough. I want off this stuff now, but I know it's too dangerous to do it too quickly.

I hate this disease too. I hope that your bones heal well, and no more damage occurs.

I'm praying for you!
Nicky

Angry

Erin,

I am sorry you are in so much pain and I hope the pain goes away soon.

Your experience reminds me of what happened to me a long time ago. When I was about 3 years old I got sick, some cold symptoms that would not go away (later I learned that this was most likely caused by allergies), and my mom brought me to the doctor. Well, the doctor overmedicated me and I got all sorts of side effects which were then medicated, and this went on for almost two years with more and more side effects from more and more medications. I had over 200 shots in less than two years! I was unable to walk due to muscle collapse from all the shot needles and had all sorts of other terrible symptoms. Finally, my mom brought me to another doctor since the original doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and thought I was dying.

I still remember clearly the first visit with this new doctor, I even remember his name. He did a checkup on me, left the office to review my previous medical information, came back in with the huge folder containing my medical history. He was red in the face and angry. He knew right away that I had been overmedicated and that the medication was the source of my problem. He was so angry he ended up throwing the file in the air. He was my savior! At the time I had a yeast infection from all the medication and within two weeks of treatment for yeast infection I was cured.

Erin, I feel angry about your situation and wish I could help you like my doctor did for me so long ago. I think that many of your symptoms are from the medications. Of course, I am not a doctor, and I do understand that sometimes the benefits of medications outweight the risks.

I hope your Mayo Clinic visit helps you, I will be thinking of you. Take care of yourself.

Susan,

You said this so much better than I did! Like you, I am so angry about what Erin is going through!!...and believe there is too much drug therapy going on at her expense.
