they dont have to sit with me. I dont see the reason, they are only 20 feet away.
I still drink alot, havent had any headaches, halfway through with todays dose, going to keep getting it earlier and earlier so I can get out of here by late saturday afternoon.
ate dinner tonight, was pretty good, unexpected.

funny, ok, but not funny, not making fun of anyone.
I had my kids and other family members here tonight. I sent them all home.
but while they were here, my roomate, an elderly gent, 74 or so, with some kind of problems, disorientation and stuff, came out of the restroom, and while I was sitting on the edge of my bed, shuffled over and began to lay down on the other side of my bed, he is just out of it, I had to stop my family from laughing, cause it really isnt funny, but its funny to see someone attempt to get into the bed your sitting on. hes a good guy. I helped him out.

lol!

Something sorta similar to that happened to me in the hospital...I was sitting on my bed, sorta late at night, and this guy came into my room, up to my bed...He was really outta it too (it was the thoracic surgery unit, so I think that he may have been on hardcore pain killers)...He was like, "Hey, so do you think that-" then a nurse came and gently turned him around and escorted him out of my room...he was speaking really frantically, with this really big smile on his face- his pupils were huge! It was kinda scary at first, because it was late and all that, but then it was kinda funny, just because his body language and the way he came so comfortably up to me seemed like we were old friends or something...That's the way I imagine the older man laying in your bed...hehe

Once in the middle of the night when my husband was in the hospital and on massive medication, he woke up and decided he needed a new gown so he took his off and walked down the hall naked to the supply closet. A nurse saw him and said, "oh Mark! you don't have to do that, I can get that for you!". I can only imagine her surprise when she turned the corner and saw my 6 "4" husband standing there buck naked, but he said she was very calm. We laughed about that for months though. Luckily, my husband was not shy and he had a great sense of humor. As for the nurses, they were saintly people. Really unbelievably kind.

Come to think of it, I don't know how he got around the IV. Maybe they had finished with the chemo.

Regarding earplugs, when I was in the hospital in December I asked the nurse if they had any and he went and got me a pair. If you think it might help, it would be worth asking one of the nurses.

7:30 am day three, physically, Im fine, other than a touch of stomach queeezzzziees, might not have anything to do with the ivig, maybe just change in food source, water, etc...
I had a pretty good night, as hard as that is to pray for, even with the ivig hooked in me, I passed out at 11:30, woke at 1am nurse had quietly changed over bottles and I didnt even wake and machine didnt beep once for 2 hours.
slept again till around 3, and felt rested finally.
then it was on and off, the rounds start here at 5 am, so its blood pressure, blood, pressure again, temps, theres no way to sleep after that.
I have a new nurse today, Im pushing my doc and her for a shower, this body needs a real shower, I just feel dirty. (besides being a dirty old man)

Important stuff-all the blood letting was done with pretty good skills.
Only one nurse so far had to stick me twice, and most it was very little stick.
thats important to me also, I dislike needles.
My breakfast yesterday was something I didnt order, since I wasnt here in time, but the food services lady told me whatever i want, shell go back down and get for me. rather nice I thought.
I told her not important, coffee and a roll was fine.
lasts night dinner was actually good.

I got off the juice at 4 am today, so neuro residents here and hospital policy wont allow me to get next dose for at least 8 hours, so Im pushing for noon today, this way my saturday dose will be in morning, and Ill be home saturday night to waTCH football.Im trying at least.
my wife will be here around 1 today, dont know why, she just cant stay away, Im not that nice, but I guess over 30 years its an obligation.

2 doses, 0 side effects, Im happy.

my nurse went down at 11:15 to get my dose to start at noon today. I was feeling good, took a shower, slept a bit last night, trying to get the doses in earlier and earlier each day so by saturday, I can get out as early as possible, as Im sure they want also, since beds are in great demand here.
and then my nurse came into me at 11:30 and informed me the pharmacy ran out of ivig. Hello? HELLO?
its not like they didnt know its a 5 day therapy
eh, Im back to being disgusted, lets see how much they hang me now and how long it takes them to borrow some from a nearby hospital. why couldnt they borrow it last night or this morning?
disgusted level 10 out of 10

hes ok the old guy next to me, hes just off due to a growth on his brain
the nurse informed me theres 4 patients on the floor getting ivig, dont know what their health probelms are though so I hope he got enough in now. there are alot of big hospitals here in the NE within an hour of here, so I cant see a big problem borrowing any.
at least they got the same brand.
Im back on just 3 hours behind MY schedule.
I feel a bit better now. getting my third day in, looking forward to my release date, this is torture being confined like this, theres not even a waiting room on this floor to hang out in with my family and friends....guess I cant expect everything.

Hi Allen,

omg they ran out, I really can't believe that. Here in Australia, its pre ordered for me, all of it!!!

When I was first diagnosed, I had to go to the neurology of the main hospital here in Western Australia. Well I was the only person under 70 there, all the other patients were stroke victims!!!! My next door neighbour pulled out her iv, and did a runner, she was convinced she was being held against her will in some other place. So I had to run, well shuffle really after her, and stop her from falling out of bed, as you can imagine a 80 year old trying to escape from bed with the sides up was rather dangerous.

Hope things keep going smoothly for you
Kate
