Default RNS-Electromyography Question

Hi All-My 1st RNS failed to diagnosis whether I had MG because I was still taking Mestinon. So, neuro wants me to stop the Mestinon and re-take the test-and going in to be electrocuted again-does not turn me on LOL. Question: Can this test cause any problems to heart, nerves etc. Is it safe to take. My concern is that off the mestinon, not only do my muscles fail to work but so does other organs in my body-my stomach problems and heart issues disappear but have both returned as I am stopping the Mestinon. ANy advice? Would you take this exam again?? Thanks for any input.

What concerns me about what you said about your "heart issues" getting better on Mestinon is that Mestinon has been shown to help those with ischemia or narrowing of arteries.

I honestly believe that the more urgent issue here is making absolutely sure there isn't a heart or circulation issue, due to the odd blood pressure changes.

Having had more then one SFEMG or RNS or regular EMG, I know they are not fun. However, they are necessary in order to determine if you have MG and how bad it is. I personally would go through with it but you have to consider all the variables of your situation, along with talking it over with your neuro or primary doctor.

I also do not think you should have to pay for that first test! It's like having someone do a glucose test after eating a hot fudge sundae or a cholesterol test after eating a Big Mac. It completely skews the results!
