Barbara, I'm sorry you are having such bad symptoms. The only time I need something like a cane or walker is when I push too far and my back gets very weak. I have not had to use braces or a wheelchair, though I know some people do. Of course, I don't push myself too far anymore.

Do you mind me asking what drugs you are on? What does your doc say about how you are doing? Could there be something else making your MG worse?

When you mentioned braces, the first thing that came to mind was post-polio syndrome.

I guess I would make sure it's "just" the MG and not something else making it worse. I hope you will get better.

Annie

Teeth Hi Barbara356!

Hi sweetheart!

I have to use a electric scooter or walker (on my good days the walker) - -it has been so frustrating b/c I'm a type A personallity, but at least this way I can get around.....................

I hope you don't mind, but other than that what are your strange MG symtoms? We may have a lot in common!

Hugs!
Erin

I've gotten as far as shopping for a wheelchair twice, if that counts...And then both times I've hit an up-swing and decided I can get by without it. I bring a wheeled walker if I'm going somewhere (like a department store) that I'll have to be on my feet.

I use to use a walking stick, but only use walking poles now for walking for exercise, they keep me steady and give me confidence.

I do know a young lady, she was about 14 when I first met her (she has MG) and she was in a wheel chair almost all of the time, including school......

Hi Annie
I worked a job 10 hours a night on my feet at a pharmacy. I cleaned the store. I knew it wasn't a good job for me, but I needed the income. At first my feet hurt and I thought it was just normal. About 6 months into it, my feet starting rolling in and I felt like all my gait was ending up on my big toe.
I went to a foot doctor without consulting my neuro. I had told him many times that I felt like my feet were rolling and about my toes. He never responded with an answer, except that he would choose another type of job
Well I finally quit after the foot doctor told me I had posterior tibial dysfunction. She said it is quite common but it could also be related to weak muscles. With MG if you have weak muscles and you keep using them will you lose muscle permanently?

Hi, did the doctor tell you if the MG had caused the problem that required a brace?

Hi, Christine. Did you first start out wearing braces or did you go straight into a chair? Do the leg spasms come from the MG? I sometimes feel like I might have an associated illness. Do you have any other diagnosis/
