Default Update/Infection

Hello all, just wanted to come and give and update and ask some questions.

I currently have bronchitis as I woke up the other morning and headed to the ER because I could barely breath. That was three days ago (christmas eve) the doctor gave me Keflex. They took 15 viles of blood to make sure nothing else was going on. I wanted to nip it in the but so it didnt turn into pneumonia.

But right now, Im at the top of my IVIG, so im pretty strong but still it gets hard as I have an infection, and Im stuck in maine and really want to excersize.

I was wondering, if my phleghm is still green 3 days after starting keflex does that mean its not working? Should I go back in? During the day the infection sort of goes away...then comes back in the morning/night when Im laying flat.

I am having a little blood in my phlegm but thats pretty normal for bronchitis, i think.

Im on 14 pills a day including vitamins, hopefully Ill be down soon enough.

But any advice you could give me on the infection, would be awesome, I guess all the could do is IV antibiotics to kill it faster....

Hope your all doing well.

Oral antibiotics can often take 48 hours before the titer is high enough to begin attacking a strong infection (which you apparently have). As for the exersize etc. - you already know the answer to that.

If you are running a fever still - I would at least call your PCP. Ask about the blood results and report your symptoms. Let him/her decide if they should start IV antibiotics.
As always, if your breathing deteriorates, get to the ER.

Also, be careful with the Keflex - - not all MG'ers can handle it well.

Find a good book, movie(s), video game or whatever and lay low!! Maybe you 'll be back to yourself by New Year's Eve. I sure hope so - - you've had quite a year!! - - and deserve to have a better 2011.
