BLAST IT! I recieved a letter from the local Civil Rights office saying they werent changing their position on my case with my landlord. This is feeling like I ran into a poorly run, unpaid agency problem. The case is so obvious in that my landlord intentionally put an AC unit in the was way too small for an apartment my size on the second floor with full afternoon sun. After they put it in it would get above 80 degrees in here. My landlords answer was to go just cool my bed room and go in there if I need to cool off!! Wow. I went from a 1200btu to the 6000btu he put in knowing full well of my heat sensitivity and health.
I talked to the director after they said they 'had to' close the case at the 100 day mark which was part of the problem......I was waiting here thinking we were going to mediate. Then suddenly they said they needed to internview me In October, during which I got alot sicker as you know. Things moved slowly because I was sick and honestly didnt realize this 100 day thing. I emailed and said is this about the mediation. No, opps they said sorry we didnt tell you. ...... Any way I called the State office of Civil rights and went over the situation and said I didnt get what just happened as I did what they said and it turned out this way seeming to have no consideration to my health. They were ALOT nicer and kinder and checked to see if my case was cross filed with them. IT was not. It was crossfiled with HUD in Kansas City I assume because I get Aid. He said he could give me the number of HUD in Kansas City. Now this was interesting in that I asked if I could speak to HUD regarding the need for additional time for the case with the last j*** that was on the case that actually scared me. He said no, I could not talk to HUD. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I have to gather my thoguhts and priorities. It would seem obvious to just walk away but since they involved HUD this could affect my housing money and furture apartments. I have to find out if that is true. I dont have the time for this. If I had money squirrled away I and was sure the next landlrd wouldnt try to talk to this one I'd move. I keep thinking if my mine were functioning better this would have turned out better. Annie59 |
