I must say its really good having an online community one can in interact with about this condition ...thanks guys!
Ok, finally someone on azathioprine for a fairly long time....I am glad you are not experiencing any side-effects Tracey Did you have any adverse reactions to the azathioprione initially or was it always 'plain sailing'? Also did your doc advise you on any special diet due to prednisone? As for my wife, she experienced slurring of speech about a year ago. The neuro attributed it to stress and it recovered spontaneously so we did not think much of it. In December last year our fourth daughter was born and about a week after that my wife got slurring of speech, double vision, shortness of breath and weakness in arms and legs. She even had to spend a week in hospital She is doing much better now though on mestinon and prednisone but will be starting azathioprine or methotrexate in February and we really hoping that it goes well...will keep in touch, Ricardi |

Tracy,
During the 10 year period you have been on Azathioprine, have you experienced any side effects due to it? For example, did you catch the flu more easily or did u get the flu vaccine each year? Best regards Ricardo |
