Default Help with breathing and phone calls

I lost my voice, my breathing got alot worse Friday nite after a modest acitivity increase along with my mom calling in the evening from my mom to wish happy birthday. About 15mn in I could feel the extra work my weakened muscles caused. I needed to stop. I tried to think of how to tell mom this.

She has Emphysema and is in hospice and is very lonely. I offered to call her back this week and finish the talk. I said my breathing was getting harder as she noticed she couldnt hear me. She didnt get it. She has some liquid drug hospice nurse gives her so when she gets worse she takes that and 10mn later she is happy and breathing better.

AS for me I was up to 2:30am cause my breathing was so bad I could lay down for sure much less be comfortable breathing sitting up. I need to have a better plan of how to make calls shorter in the future. Can any of you help with suggestions? My mom is a smart lady. She is VERY sick and looks like she might not have her mind but earlier in the day and on better days she is clear.

I had the plans the next day to hang out with my kids and grankids which had to be nixed as my breathing even the next morn was pretty bad. If I had gone the activity and for sure any talking would have made me worse. Any walking or harder things like dressing and going out make me worse especially if I am already worse.
