Not too much to report. She specializes in "rehabilitation"--not quite sure what that means, but she sees people with neuromuscular trouble and she knew what MG is. It's the first time I've ever been for counseling. I like her--nothing fake about her, she listened carefully and understood me, very human. She is going to help me figure out how to navigate this transition to living with a chronic illness. I figured this is not an unheard of problem, and maybe she has some experience to help me. Whether the trouble is physical or psychological or both, understanding the problem is half the battle.

Abby, Glad you found someone you already think has good qualities for you. I dont know how big your city is (or dont remember) or what your insurance is (that is my biggest limiting factor) but just finding someone can be very very hard. Before I started with the psychologist I mentioned I was told by someone who was great but retiring that the local hospital had a new person for chronic illness. Wow was that person cold and clinical. For me that doesnt work. She wanted to do a full session of only a detail history (not just my illness but any therapist and why) without even getting to know me and letting me get to know her. I felt exposed as it was just way too much. Just not getting that what she wanted to do was not appropriate said alot.
