Default migrating myasthenia

Is that typical, for the weakness to affect one group of muscles especially for a few months, and then move? The good news is that my bulbar weakness is better, and so is my truncal weakness. The bad news is that it's around my knees now. I'm walking very poorly (and sometimes not at all). Maybe this too shall pass. Maybe the myasthenia is headed downwards and will exit through my feet. There's something to hope for!

I'm so sorry to hear about the struggles some of our members are having lately, with hospitals and doctors who are ignorant. I'm thinking of you guys, and being inspired by your strength.

Abby

This is what I am going through. My double vision is mostly gone as is my facial weakness (or at least both are tolerable now), but I have a lot of weakness in my legs and arms. It does seem like the area with the most weakness is moving downward, or outward. I hadn't really noticed it until you mentioned it. I wonder what it means.

You're way silly, Abby. Maybe we can imagine it out of our bodies, like people say can be done with cancer.

MG has been said to be a "head and down" disease, because it often is first noticed in the eye/facial muscles. Guillain-Barre is the opposite, being first noticed in the legs. And here's another interesting fact. When I talk too much, I can't close my mouth. It's so much fun to have to sleep with your mouth open. With GB, they have the opposite problem and can't open their mouth.

Of course, with MG, anything is possible.
