Default Anyone

with experience with Kindney problems/tacrolimus..

I am having left side pains below rib cage and painful when urinating...I think it may be due to the tacro..I called my neuro and asked her to fax a script to my lab so I could get it checked out.

any advice/ideas?

It makes me very sad that no one responded to your post. I know, Tyson, you take it in stride.

What I'm afraid of with you is that MG won't kill you but the treatments might. Kidney pain, no matter the cause, is an emergency, especially when you are on so many drugs. Some drugs are cleared through the liver, others through the kidneys. You are on way too many drugs. Your body may not like that. Kidneys can go into failure and you should always check any kidney/urinary symptoms out right away.

A lab is not enough. They may need to check an arterial blood gas or do imaging. Please check this out thoroughly, either in the ER or with your internist. This is not a situation for only a neurologist.

I hope you'll be okay.

Annie- dont worry about no one responding, no biggie.

But yeah i can see your concern..I just dont have the time to go to doctors after doctors to figure out what it is, if I have problems I usually just ask my neuro as i figure if its bad enough she would tell me to go...

Not sure how to go about it.

I really just wish the protocol was open so i could get it done right now..

The easiest way to go about any new symptom is to see an internist. Or someone at urgent care instead of the ER. Do you have urgent care centers? They have a lot of the same capabilities of an ER, if it's not a true emergency. Does your insurance company have a nurse line you can ask about it?

Don't rely so much on your neuro. They are a specialist and often only like to deal with their specialty. Internists are great for figuring new things out . . . usually.

I just hope you'll feel better.

Tyson,

How are you doing now? Did you get the urinalysis done? Regardless of the aggrevation, please don't risk kidney impairment. Among the obvious downsides, poorly functioning kidneys could disqualify you for the trial.

Nope I did not have an urinalysis done, but a cmp, CBC, and fk105 level...
they were not out of control except for the bilirubin..and it wasn't that bad.

I am going to see my internist Tuesday because I'm having the pain but only when I am in certain positions.

Urg..waiting for this trial is the hardest!
