Help I'm freaking out!

I just ran out of my mestinon prescription...

It's been just a hectic week at work that i completely forgot about my refill, and now i call my pharmacy and they tell me they're out and they wont get their order until monday. im down to my last pill...

im freaking out...mestinon literally saves me from hell everyday.

My doctor took me off prednisone because my MG is not too advanced, and said mestinon was enough. i still have my prescription though...

should i take that in the mean time?

You might call the ER at your hospital and see if they have/can fix you up until Monday?
Also could call your doctor and ask the same - they may have some samples?
Good Luck!

I would not use the pred without doctors directions. Pred and be very tricky. Try to get your pharmacy to get a four day advance on your refill from another pharmacy. Tell them if they find the pharmacy and arrange, you will be more than glad to pick up.

If that doesn't work, your neuro undoubtedly has Mestinon on hand. See if they would give you four days worth. And if they don't have enough - ask them to call hospital pharmacy and see if they have some.

In future, always always always keep at least two weeks supply on hand. What if you absolutely had to travel and didn't have enough pills?

Take your last Rx bottle to another pharmacy and have it filled there.

Gabs, You haven't checked back - are you okay?

Did your doctor take you off of Pred cold turkey?!!! I sure hope not. It can cause some pretty serious problems with your adrenal glands.

Smokey's suggestion about the hospital pharmacy is a good one. But they normally only have the generic version.

I hope you got taken care of.

Annie
