violet, I am new here and this is my first reply so bear with me. When I had my loading dose of gammagard (only 2 days but I get 80 gms in one sitting) I came home and felt like I had been hit by a truck. I didn't know what to expect so I called my doc about it. He called me back a little while later.

He was very worried about me as my antistriated muscle antibodies were and are 61,000 and he just thought I was headed for trouble. I told him not to worry cause I was one of those people who gets knocked down even from good stress. Every time one of our kids got married I ended up with a flare and spent a couple of days in bed on cortisone. I thought it was from my allergies and asthma and so did my docs back then.

Anyway, my immunologist put me on a couple of days of prednisone to help get me through my bodies adjustment to the IVIG. I literally would have times when I had to cover up in my recliner and not move cause I felt to weak. I felt like I was going to slide through the floor into oblivion. It took me a few days before I felt stronger.

I would suggest that the doctor be called and informed of the reaction your daughter is having. He may want to medicate her with steroids or he may want to wait a few days. Just depends on what his thoughts and experience are. Ask him if he has ever had anyone get weak like this before. Good luck. stella
