This is not mine, but my neurologist's wisdom.

I told him that sometimes it makes me feel incompetent being able to do mostly intelectual work and very little physical work.

His reply was- you would have been much more incompetent if it was the other way around.

And I had to agree, thinking about some physically able physicians I have met...

Great post - funny stuff! And Seamus, I have not got a permit yet but figured if I did I would get a cane so I "looked" more disabled!

Pros: Hmmm, well I sure due appreciate life and the "good days" much more
and I judge others much less by what I see knowing they may have many
hidden challenges!

Cons: constantly giving up hobbies dear to me and trying to replace them
with new "doable" ones!
