Default ANA screen

If you have MG, do you test positive or negative for ANA Screen?
Has or does anyone remember what there ANA came back as?

Both my neuro and PCP discounted ANA as relative to MG. They include it in the blood test to determine if some inflammatory infection could be present and contributing to weakness (at least that's what they said when I asked!).

Default Thanks

Thank-you sue.
My ANA was negative..
I'm scared (after reading some posts) that my neuro is going to send me to the psych dr after reading that this has happened to so many sick people. My parents are coming with me, to try and get some answers and get me some help.
Thank-you again for answering my question

It is really good to have someone with you. You are nervous and miss a lot of what the doctor says. My wife goes to all my visits.

Default Yes!

I found that at my last appointment. I was really sick, and couldn't walk and the neurologist brought in residents to see me. I was really nervous, and didn't get to ask many questions. I was scared to while other people were in the room.
I know my mom will get things done!haha!

My daughter was diagnosed with MG in December. She had a positive ANA test result as well as positive acetylcholine receptor blocking, binding, and modulating antibodies. Her neurologist felt that the positive ANA was a non-specific finding related to the MG antibodies cross-reacting.
