I think that my general practitioner or maybe my old neurologist told me to take D3. I bought a bottle but never took it. I dug it out of the pantry a few minutes ago and took one. We'll see how that works out.

What dosage are people taking? This bottle says 2000 units which also says 500% of the requirement. That is probably why I didn't take it before. That seems crazy to take that big of a dose if it is really 500% of what you need. I may have just taken a weeks worth in one pill.

The tolerable upper intake level according to the government is 4000 IU's per day: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Vit...hProfessional/

I take 2 capsules of 25,000 iu's of Vit D3 per week. I was tested several years back, was very low, and this is what it takes to keep me in range. My daughter has the same problem, and some genetic testing we did for her for other reasons indicates she has a mutation on her "vitamin d receptor gene" and I guess it's obvious where she got that mutation. Sigh.

FWIW, there was no measurable increase in strength in myself with high or low vit d levels. It also took a looooooooong time to get those levels into range. People think that a few minutes in the sun will do the trick. Not so much!
