Default Home from the Hospital

Hi All, I finished my 5 days of IVIG yesterday and they released me home last night. The headaches were horrible last night but tapering off today. how long will I know if the IVIG is going to work. the first two days I felt better afterwards but the last three I have felt worse. Doctor put me from 20 mg of predneisone to 40 mg. I just feel so darn weak anyone else have a simular situation with the IVIG

I don't know what's typical (or if there really even is a typical), but I finished my 5-day dose three weeks ago tomorrow. By the Monday after, I was already feeling like I had more energy. Even people at work remarked at how I didn't look like I was going to pass out at my desk by lunchtime. I've only had one issue with my jaw since then and my arms haven't had any issues. My eyesight just began coming back into focus this past Sunday (a little over two weeks from the end of my treatment). The focus is still a bit shaky sometimes, but, for the most part, only when I'm moving my head, in a car, etc. And even that's gotten better since Sunday.

Hope the treatment works well for you and you can get some relief soon!

Adam

Yes, I'm in Vegas, as well. My neuro has me on a once-a-month treatment of IVIg for a year. In fact, my next treatment is this Friday....

lisa;

I can only repeat my response on the 8th.

I have been getting infusions for 3 1/2 yrs. My nurse now, and I will double check with her but I think she had only 3 MG patients she infused with IG for Myasthenia Gravis. Me excluded.

I will double check with her but I think she had only 3 MG patients she infused with IG for MG.

2 had the initial 5 and a just a few after. And that was all they needed because of their improvement.

She had one patient that had the 5 and never needed another. I HOPE YOU FALL IN THIS CATEGORY.

I hope you get more feedback to this thread from people that have had different experiences with IGIV. How many, how effective, that type of info.
