The important finding is that this is evidence that MG does indeed affect the brain directly (for those of us with Myasthenia Brain ;) ) It opens the door for further studies that had been previously closed because there were no repeatable results.

Hey Brian, totally agree with you here...latest neurology discusses the research into alzheimers & frontal brain dementias, but I've never seen a reference or heard any discussion from neuros about our disease affecting the brain, as I'm sure it must.....I'd donate mine if I thought it'd help, lol......

I've always been a SUPER nose. I smell everything. BUT, did you all notice that the people in this study were given a Smell Identification Test?

A couple of years ago, I went to a children's science museum with my sister and nephew. They had an exhibit where you BLINDLY smelled stuff and tried to identify what you were smelling. I think there were about 10 or 15 things. I only got 2 or 3 right. :(

So, even though I DO smell stuff -- I guess I can't always tell what I'm smelling.

If I remember correctly, the test included stuff like strawberry, coconut, banana, lemon, pineapple, etc. I remember getting lemon right -- and maybe banana.
