Default Mestinon advice

So...I had an appointment with my GP today and he suspects I have MG and carotid sinus hypersensitivity (Jana - you're a genius! ). He has suggested a trial of mestinon once he has consulted a neuro on safety measures. Do you have any idea whether there are any side effects to taking mestinon which may be dangerous to CSH?
Thanks for your thoughts

(Jana - you're a genius! ). Hahahaha -- NOT even, but thanks!! I had syncope in my neuro's office one time -- and of course HAD to Google and try to figure out WHY! Came across vaso-vagal and the rest is history.

As for side effects, I'm thinking actually Mestinon "might" be beneficial. It helps with a handful of low blood pressure-type disorders, like POTS -- that can cause fainting. If I recall, it is only contraindicated in people with intestinal obstructive disorders and with certain types of urinary problems. Asthmatics are supposed to use with caution -- but, I've got asthma and haven't had any problems with Mestinon.

Hi Wild Cat,
Here I am in San Antonio, Tx, allergy capitol of the world, and I do have allergies. I take mestinon, and have never noticed any differences with my allergies. Unfortunatly, it does not help them either. Hope these notes may help you.

Hi,

Sorry about previous answer to your question. Not being in the medical field, I mis-understood the nature of csh. Anyway just trying to be of help. Hope jana's answer was of some help.
