Default Going off Mestinon

I had my Thymectomy in May of this year, I was taking 180 mg of Mestinon a day, I am now down to 60 mg a day I take 30 in the morning and 30 at supper, I have cut out my IVIG and I'm feeling great, I want to attempt going off Mestinon all together, but I don't want to crash and have my MG get worse, any suggestions? Or things to watch for as I cutback?

I also had my thymectomy in May but I am on prediscone. Was up to 70 and now tapering down and currently on 30mg. I stopped taking mestinon months ago as I felt it made no difference to my symptoms. Obviously I'm not saying anyone should do that but my Neuro says its doesn't work for everyone and I guess I'm one of them. Not sure if that's a blessing or a curse! Would rather be off the steroids! Hoping that the thymectomy works. Good luck!

My suggestion is not to stop but keep reducing the amount you take. Try 15mg then keep cutting the pills down. This will help make sure you don't crash.
