I read with interest that you like doing family history. Is there any chance you could help me? I am adopted. Laws are not retroactive, and I was always told I had to go to court for my adoption history. I know my mothers real name, and the location of my birth, little else. I was not ever told the medical situation of my family, nor anything about possible sibblings. My folks that adopted me, never prevented me from trying to find out. It was the cost of going to court. If you can't, or don't care to, I certainly understand. I have always held out hope, that someday I would find out the truth. ginnie

When I can read - though not usually books because holding them is difficult and printer's ink makes me sneeze - I'm like you. Anything historical, science-related or, well, pretty much anything that I can learn about the world. My most recent book was, "The Source Field Investigations" by David Wilcock. Just the chapter about research on plants being hooked up to polygraph machines to see if they elicit an emotional response was worth the price of the book.

Be cautious of Ancestry.com because they will fool you into believing you are having a one-month only subscription but then keep charging you month after month. You literally have to cancel before the end of that first month to not be charged!

Ginnie, I'm sorry you don't know where your ancestors are from. I don't know the laws in the state you're in but there must be a way you can get your adoption records! I'll bet a lawyer - even a pro bono one - could get them for you! BTW, I like Michio Kaku too!

It was always due to lack of money. I was never in my birth state all that much. Private adoption agiencies are very hard to deal with. Pro bono, very hard to get, as most of the agiencies are broke, I tried with other issues. Went to this adoption agency when my daughter was born with birth defects. My son also has health issues as do I. From just a medical point of view, I wanted to know all these years. I will keep hope alive with pingpongman, God bless him just for trying....ginnie

A teacher who was extremely posh and always picked on me presumed she was related to royalty but they later traced her immediate ancestors to being sheep stealers. I heard all our records were destroyed in the 2nd world war, otherwise I would have been on it already

Hi Annie – I don´t have enough eye problems or sensitivities to not make me read books but it is interesting to hear how other manage too, for example Stellatum´s post about Kindle´s etc. I only have minor problems reading on computer I get motion sickness and some tracking issues but otherwise I have no excuse! I will definitely get that book by Wilcock , go straight to that chapter and see if there´s a valid reason for me to continue talking to my plants Hey! hope you are feeling better...

David's book is so jammed pack full of research. It's amazing how much we don't know about our world and universe. If you have an open mind, you'll love it. Left-brained, controlling individuals might pooh-pooh everything in the book and call it "pseudo science." I was going to go to a conference he's having this weekend but my MG had other plans.
