I am having a lot of trouble with double vision as well as a lot of weakness and jitteriness with my right eye. I think resting it by covering it might be a good option. Does anyone have any suggestion on how they do this or how I might do this without too much expense or looking too freaky?

There are several options for this ugly problem. A plain old eye patch can work. Some buy a pair of lightly tinted sunglasses ans occlude one lens. You can purchase a vision occluding contact lens to wear on one eye. Or, as I usually would do...just stick a post-it over one eye (but I wouldn't recommend that away from home!)

You can use some tape or contact paper stuck onto the inside of one lens. You can also use a sharpie or paint in a similar color and just color one lens. There just isn't a chic solution, unfortunately.

Hope you didn't mind a little levity - my DH seriously considered #2 when he had to drive 15 miles at night when commuting home in the dark. It beat keeping one eye shut. But someone on this board or another we frequent pointed out that if you use glasses and put something opaque on the offending eye's lens, you will then still have some peripheral vision in the case that some driver off to that side does something unexpected - you'll still be able to see the movement and react, in other words.

I stopped at the optician and she gave me several pairs of those chic disposable sunglasses for after the eye drops. I really like the idea of the designer duct tape. I need to make them more opaque so I am going to cut out the shade on one side and cover the other with designer duct tape. Now I can have several different varieties depending on my mood. I thought these would be easiest since they just easily rest on my existing glasses and I can switch them on and off as my double vision comes and goes throughout the day.
