Default Worse than ever

I am one year to the day post Thymectomy.......I have been off all med's for about 6 months and living like normal, until last Friday, I noticed weakness in my right hand, and it has got worse fast.

I'm having severe anxiety and I'm very nauseated which I'm assuming is all from the worry of what is ahead, but most of all I'm SCARED, before I had the hope of the Thymectomy putting me into remmission, now what????

Sunday I took, 30 mg of Mestinon, Monday I took 30 mg, today I'm upto 90mg and I'm still very weak, I know that dose isn't much but I'm trying to figure out how bad it really is. It really seems to be coming on STRONG and FAST

I guess it's time to head to my internalist and see what she thinks. I was so hopefull after being able to quit my med's now what...........

I guess I just need to vent and feel sorry for myself to those who understand what it's like.

Kimmy, I'm so sorry you are doing worse! It must be especially hard since you were doing so well.

I think seeing your primary doctor is a great idea. She can make sure there aren't other things, possibly a new condition, making your MG worse.

Don't assume the nausea is from stress. Have you been having digestive problems?

That dose of Mestinon might be too much if you haven't been on it for awhile. That could be causing a bit of nausea too. How do you feel when 90 mg. wears off?

Since the weakness is coming on so strong and fast, you should contact your neuro right away. If you get much worse, just go to the ER.

I hope this is just a temporary hiccup. Try not to be too stressed out.

And, yeah, I for one totally get the feeling sorry for yourself thing. MG is a really hard disease sometimes. It can take away a lot from a person. It's okay to feel bad about feeling bad!

Take it easy, okay? And do something nice for yourself that'll get your mind off of it and reduce the stress.

Annie

Thanks Annie I'm going to go to the doc. Asap, but my Neuro is 5 hrs away......which makes it difficult to see him, but he works with my internalist over the phone(thank goodness)

I'm hoping it passes as quick as it came.....

Taking 90 mg is helping a bit, but I'm still fairly weak I feel like I should be taking more, but I don't want to rush it, before I was taking up to 180 mg plus a day, when I started to feel better I was getting a lot of muscle cramps and stomach pains so I will watch for all that to tell me that I'm taking too much. I almost feel like I might need some IVIG.
