Default Possible Mg????

Well, hello to all. I feel like I am losing my head... who cares about balance right now. I have been to see, 3 neuro's..and am now beginning to think that the diagnosis for this disease is like looking for a needle in a haystack. In September 2012 I noticed a weakening in my hand when brushing my teeth. Then, got out of breath when showering. In December I noticed that after walking approx 300m, I felt like I had a band holding me back. (i used to walk 8km's every day). In January 2013, I was feeling very weak, muscles seemed to be letting me down. I was too scared to walk down steps as getting back up was a nightmare. Long story short, saw chiro he told me I should go see neuro, then weakness got worse, say GP who referred me to Neuro. I had MRI brain and partial spine, all clear, bloods came back all clear, one was high borderline. CT of chest, normal. Nerve test, and muscle test slight abnormality. Started Mestinon, and oh my hat. I found girly viagra. It works like a charm. I have 60mg morning and then 30mg midday and 30mg in evening. If I take 60mg midday, I seem to fall flat again. Saw the 3rd Neuro today and he says its not MG as I am having a reaction to the Mestinon. by the way, I have been taken off the Mestinon for second and third opinion. The new guy is now testing for Gillian Barre, Lupus and some other bacteria and Thyroid. When do you think they should make a final diagnosis???? I am losing my humor and mind. Is this all in my head. I don't have trouble breathing, but do have muscle weakness in hands, arms and legs and a droopy eye. Any suggestions. I am in South Africa.

Long weekend up here, so I'm here for but a moment. Naiad, I'm not sure I understand what your doctor meant when he said, "...It's not MG as I am having a reaction to the Mestinon..." I appreciate that you are wondering what has hit you, right about now. Can you tell me, roughly, what he said to you about the mestinon?

Cheers...

Thanks for your response. Well, I gotta be honest, I don't think they know much about mestinon. Its all about getting the dosage right, right? I have decided to just let things be. All three seem to be "not sure" and are talking about chronic fatigue and other things that I DON'T have symptoms to. I am just gonna ride it out and see what the future brings. Can't be worse than the last 9 months. What you think. So its upwards and onwards right now.

Stay safe and healthy

Please don't lose your great sense of humour, Naiad--it'll save your mind!
When I hear you say, "Enough is enough; I am going to get to the bottom of this!" you'll hear a cheer from me, all the way from the great white north.

May your journey be heavy on the "upwards.."
