Default ankles hurt

Hi everyone! My ankles have been giving me a fit lately. I can't walk much.
Does anyone else have this?

I have a lot of ankle pain when I get hypothyroid. Straightens right out when I raise my dose of thyroid meds.

In the summer when my symptoms were bad, the joint would hurt and feel like the muscles and tendons were slipping around and not holding the joint in the right place.

I have had weak, painful ankles & feet for several years. EMG recently confirmed tarsal tunnel syndrome in both feet. It is rare condition and even podiatrist didnt think of to check for it...my neuro did.

Not too much can be done outside of surgery which isnt reliably successful so i had orthotics made and while they help i still have terrible weakness and daily pain (mostly tolerable though)

Default Hi Barbara

Welcome to Neuro talk. If your ankles are really that bad, seek out an orthopedic doctor. My ankles are shot, so I know the pain you are experiencing. I do take medications as I can't do the tendon transfers. At least after a number of years I got an MRI. That is the best when trying to determine what is going on. Do other joints hurt? Arthritis can be serious, and just be in one location too. Keep in touch. ginnie

Mine hurt, especially after sitting or first thing in the morning. I get up to walk and I waddle because my feet and ankles hurt and are stiff and tight. After just a few minutes they are good until I rest them again.
