Default temp and on azathioprine

I have been taking 150mg of azathioprine since may. I am also on prednisone, alternating days from 60mg to 20mg. Yesterday started feeling like poo. Didn't have a temp but today my temp went to 99.4°. The heat and humidity is coming in tomorrow so I am trying to blame my slight flare on that but could I be sick and not know it. I do have this mucus that refuses to come up. Have had that for awhile now but what are your opinions on this? I see my neuro Oct 10th and my hematologyst Sept 30th. So not fun I must say.

Be careful with the mucus that refuses to come up. If you are doing a lot of coughing in an attempt to expel the mucus, you are tiring you throat muscles and they are the same ones that help you swallow. I almost chocked to death last year because thick mucus got stuck in my throat and I couldn't swallow or cough it up. My daughter said my entire head turned purple before I was able to breathe again. I started taking Mucinex and it really helped. When the next allergies hit in the fall, I started on Mucinex immediately and stayed on it until my allergies cleared up. My pulmo doc also ordered a machine to give myself breathing treatments (can't think of the name of the machine - old age kicking in!) and the medication he ordered also helped thin the mucus. I haven't had any problems the last 2 allergy seasons (fall and spring) as long as I take care of myself. Good luck!

I'm currently on 200mg of Azathioprine and have been on Prednisone as high as 100mg (on 10mg now). Prednisone can mask symptoms of infection. Consider seeing your Internist or GP now rather than waiting for your neuro. FYI, I'm 15 years into my MG journey. Jim
