The title says it all really. I was admitted to hospital on Friday following my EMG last week and it's been decided I've to start mestonin 3 times a day and to have an MRI scan on my neck.
Has anyone had either while pregnant? |

I think that the mestinon is ok. I don't think the MRI is. I may be wrong, but I would sure look into it.

Hi Heather.
I'm new to this site, but not to MG. Been in remission for over 25 years till a year & half ago. Had my daughter who is 30 after my diagnosis. By the way her name is also Heather. I am seropositive so she was born with neonatal MG. She took mestinon for two months, after that & to this day she has no symptoms. Her symptoms at birth was swallowing, unable to open her eyes, & unable to cry. She spent two weeks in the hospital before coming. My pregnancy went well, my MG improved. I went down hill after she was born & had a thymectomy when she was 16 months. MRI I would think is not a good ideal during pregnancy, but I don't know. Don't be afraid to ask. They wanted to do a stress test on me to see how the baby would handle labor & going in to labor was possible. So I said NO, if she was born with neonatal MG I wasn't adding being premature to it. I was 7 months. |
