Default Allergic to Prednisone -- any alternative immunosuppressants for MG?

I took Prednisone for about a week and then had to stop due to an allergic reaction.

The day after taking my first dose, my eyes started to get puffy, then the next day my cheeks showed a red rash, then the hives started spreading to my neck and chest. After a couple days I went to the dermatologist to make sure it wasn't something else, and not just a crazy coincidence. I couldn't understand how I could be allergic to something that is used to TREAT severe allergies, lol....... :-)

The demarologist did a skin biopsy and it confirmed I am allergic to Prednisone.

The wildest side affect of the Prednisone was that I was excruciatingly hungry, sorry I mean *STARVING* the entire day after taking my morning pill. It was the most bizarre feeling I've ever had. I couldn't stop eating, the hunger was so intense! I probably gained 5 pounds that week.

That's indeed a severe allergic reaction!

Yeah, prednisone does that
I think about food way too much since prednisone In bed, I think of cheese. And chips, and mayonaise...and potato chips. And potato chips with cheese and mayonaise, and ....

There are different kinds of treatments you can try, but most of them they give together with the prednisone, cause most of them take a little while (weeks, months, or even years) to start working.
Some often used to treat MG are azathioprine (imuran), mycophenolate (cellcept), cyclosporine (neoral) and methotrexate.
I tried them all.

I take cellcept and it helps quite a bit. I am not on prednisone.
