Thank you very much for this. This is every helpful , especially for those of us with MG with negative antibody. It took forever for diagnosis until I started looking like the cartoon character "Droopy" then I had to clue my Neuro in on negative antibody MG and my textbook symptoms. I just started Mestinon a few days ago and trying to deal with Gi upset. Research like this can make a great difference in all our lives.

LRP4 has been around for some time now. It's always good to bring it up, though, because not even some doctors know about it.

There are over 100 genetic CMS mutations.
There is LEMS (and probably variants of that).
There are 3 antibodies for MG, and multiple presentations and manifestations of it.
And there are channelopathies, which are probably "cousins" of MG, too.

Look at all of the possible places for attack by antibodies! You know they're going to discover even more!

There is no way that all of the seroneg Mgers don't have MG. That's such a ridiculous premise. Doctors rely too heavily on labs and tests and not enough on their eyes, ears, and brain.

I'm grateful that there are people out there still doing research. Now if they could only find a cure for these damn diseases!

I was excited when I first read this and actually took a copy of this article to my doctor in January, and he had heard of it, but immediately dismissed it as not being a good and reliable study. I think maybe the fact that it came out of MCG (medical college of Georgia) may have swayed his opinion. He certainly popped my bubble.

This study was published in December 2013. Was this information already available before that? Is there a commercially available test for this?
