I know this from personal experience. I started smoking when I was in high school. I was 17 years old. I was soon smoking 2 packs a day. When I was 35 years old, after taking a biology course at a community college, I realized that I had to quit. That was 1986, about 28 years ago.

I had a recent MG crisis that put me into the hospital for 6 days. Can you imaging how much more difficult that crises would have been had I continued to smoke for the last 28 years?

I hope you are feeling better Mark. The doctor said the same thing, he wants me to do a cat scan (he feels I should just bypass the x-ray) and see neuromuscular specialist.

Well, not to scare you more, but B12 can be increased in myeloproliferative disorders. Let's hope it's only having the test right after you had a multivitamin! ;)

Welcome Tigerbear!

The waiting for the tests....and then waiting for the results can be so stressful! Give yourself a special treat somewhere along the way!

And congrats on quitting smoking and staying quit all these years!

Annie

:eek:that did scare me! Just kidding :) and seriously any info, bad or good is very much appreciated! TBH my bones do hurt a lot lately. I did read that a high B12 could mean cancer. I take a lot of b12 just to stay awake at my job, but I heard that even a lot of amounts in supplement form don't show up in the blood.
Thank you Annie for the link, it was informative!
