This is an odd question, but has anyone seen MG cause periodic psychotic events? My 23 year old daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago with MG and since then she has experienced strange, concerning behavior about 1-2 times per month. These events happen in the middle of the night (usually lasting about one hour between midnight and 03:00). She has visions of imaginary people, talks to them, talks in nonsensical phrases, appears to see people who are not there, often cries and is basically delusional. I sit with her and try to talk, but it's no use because she doesn't make sense, yet is very emotional. When the episode ends she falls into a very deep sleep, so I was thinking it was a partial seizure, but I read that they usually only last 1-2 minutes. I'm not sure what this is, but I'm wondering if it is related to a vitamin deficiency. Or could it be related to her meds (mestinon and immuran).... one interesting thing is that she had encephalitis 3.5 years ago, so we're not sure if this is related to a post-encephalitic condition. I've been researching all night, but thought I would post here to see if anyone in this community has experienced this. We will take her to the neurologist, but I would welcome any insight.

Our neighbor's daughter in her later teen years experienced something similar - happened at night and during the day. It ended up being a type of sensory migraine syndrome - no extreme headaches but would zone out, collapse, not make sense. Her doctors were eventually able to tie hers to fluctuating hormone levels and they are now better after being placed on hormones. Hoping you find answers quickly!
