Is anyone on this forum using this medication for Myastemia gravis? An elderly lady at church is taking it and getting worse symptoms all the time. Her doctor admits that he knows nothing about the disease...just chose this from a list of meds recommended for treating symptoms. Her eye problems (especially seeing double) is worse and weakness .The doctor just upped her dosage to see if it could help. Any information would be greatly appreciated. If you have taken it and it worked for you or didn't work and if there is something out there that might work better. My heart cries for her. She is a widow and lives alone and has trouble swallowing sometimes.

She needs to see a neuro or neuro-opto for her symtoms. Mestinon will not help her double vision. As for her swallowing it may just be an increase of her mestinon. She needs to discuss this with her neuro. I take 60mg of mestinon 4 times a day.
