Default Cause of MG

I was diagnosed in 2006 with MG. I have never heard of any link to Candida, but anything is possible. Wishing you good vibes

Of course you can get Candida long term. But anti-fungals work really well.

You can eat all the yogurt you want. You still need anti-fungal drugs.

Hope you find good support from your doctors, and the right medication, to feel well. Lets hear from you.

Hi all. I was diagnosed yesterday with MG. Omg. I'm so upset. Droopy left eyelid and struggling to chew! Doc recommended prednisone 10 mg 2x a day. So terrified of prednisone. He wants me to take it for a month. Will my eye return back to normal. Will I ever get to chew normally.

Can leave you open to repeated bouts of Oral Thrush if it gets to your throat or oesophagus you could require hospitalisation as it can be life threatening.
You are right. I thought that you were advocating diet rather than medication and I guess I have a low tolerance for that since my family and friends use the whole diet issue to put blame for my illness on me.

Hi, August. Welcome to the forum! Can you do a new thread, so that people can give you the support and information you need right now?

I'm sorry you have this disease, but it is manageable. Did your doctor give you Mestinon? He must think you're doing so poorly that you need Prednisone right away. At least ask him about a taper plan for you, so that you don't get stuck on Pred for a long time (it can cause all sorts of problems).

If you don't start a thread, I'll do one for you. I'll wait a couple of days. I don't want to mess up this thread, but you need some help!

Take it very easy, okay?

Annie

August,
Please do as Annie said and start a new thread, In the meantime, let me say this. You will most likely will have very good success with your symptoms. When I was first diagnosed, I had all your symptoms plus Some problems speaking, and trouble holding my arms over my head for very long. When I got the word from my Nuro that I had MG, He put me on Mestinon. Most of my symptoms disappeared in 1 day. I called him the man with the magic pill.
Your Eye dropping my be the most troublesome to correct, but it can be helped. Be sure to go to a Nuro, not a GP.
Look to hear more from you. This bunch can help.
FREDH.
