Default Spirometry tests

Has anyone else ever failed a spirometry test?

It started fine, breath normally into this tube, then exhale/inhale as long as you can, (with lots of encouragement... keep going keep going).

After the second time, I was out of breath... literally, started hyperventilating, took ten minutes to get under control (a bit) and then we supposed to do the forced expiratory volume... sudden quick strong out or in.

Did my best but it wasn't quick enough... and the hyperventilation kicked back in with a vengeance... Took me a good 40 minutes to get back under control.

The poor technician gave up.

Trouble is this is the second test that I have failed to complete.. the SFEMG was a disaster. I am worried that the Neuro will use this to say that I am somehow faking.
