Hi, I was reading about "HUPERZINE"-instead of Mestonine.(trying to overcome side effects).
Don't know what to believe anymore.
Has anyone heard of it? or tried it?.
Comments welcome.

I tried it years ago. There might have been some modest results, but I was pretty sick at the time, so hard to tell. There were no side effects.

MrsD has a thread on the peripheral neuropathy forum about Huperzine A. She tried it for a while and reported how it was affecting her. I had heard of it beforehand, but mostly in connection with improving memory.

I'm using Huperzine A instead of Mestinon, but I have another condition in which I take Taurine. The Huperzine A tends to make me over excited, but the Taurine seems to calm me down a bit. I'm trying tea for the benefit of theanine right now and for some reason feel calmer with this balance. I even use vanilla extract in my tea and sometime chamomile tea to calm me down. The main thing that I notice is that I have less fatigue. I have to take the huperzine A every 4 hours, just like Mestinon, but I've read where other people didn't have to take it so often. I don't know why my body demands it every 4 hours. As far as memory and thinking abilities, I've noticed that I can read much faster and retain what I read.
