Kiwi, I really appreciate all your help. I'm glad I posted here and you kindly took an interest and the time to reply. Your expertise and friendly offer of advice is gratefully accepted and appreciated. I will post results of my tests here, I should find out about AChR test in a week.
I recently had a hormone panel run. I had elevated SHBG, which my doctor said was unusual for a 50 year old woman not on birth control. FAI was low, as was testosterone. He highlighted this in my referral to the endo, who he assured me is an easy going lady.
I have read about using bio identical natural progesterone cream, but I don't know if I need it. I don't want to go on synthetic HRT, only because I have read it can increase risk of breast cancer. The other question I would like to run by you is your opinion on my thyroid problems. I will discuss these issues with endo, I just wondered if you could add some insight. Under range TSH, High free T4, lowish T3 (a few months ago T3 was under range, TSH under, T4 high). This is while on 75mcg Oroxine. According to a thyroid website, I have a conversion to T3 problem, and need T3 only meds. They also said I may have high reverse T3. My doctor tested free T3 and RT3 together, but he said they came back normal. I need to get that test from him, to keep with my records, but I didn't question the results. I do understand problems with ranges and every individual is different. I don't want to sound pushy, because he has been so helpful. The question I am asking you or anyone else who could offer insight is: I have been told by a thyroid support group basically that all my MG symptoms such as muscle fatigue, droopy eye, slur voice, falling over, swallowing and breathing etc are due to inadequately treated hypothyroidism. Could this be true? Remember I don't have hashimotos or graves. This theory would mean symptoms of 30years. Although it explains the death cold feeling (could also be scleroderma). I found it odd that my thyroid gland was of perfectly normal appearance in a recent ultrasound. I'm wondering if maybe a pituitary disorder? Particularly autoimmune in nature. I believe I have adrenal issues, even though blood tests rule that out. Two years ago I lost so much weight (from 60kg to 49kg) 5foot7, fainting and seizures. Did 24 hour urine collection, revealing high volume of fluid(pee) with high sodium. Another occasion, about 12 years ago I blew up to 80kg, and hospitalized where they slowly drained me over 4 weeks. Never found the cause.
My last question is about my high ANA of 2560. Does this indicate one serious auto immune disease, or could 2 or more also give an elevated ANA?
Sorry so long. We have 27 C here today, I am very lethargic, but breathing good. I went grocery shopping last night, then met friends for coffee. Was really nice to get out.
Thank you again.

A few thoughts:

"I had elevated SHBG"
Sex hormone-binding globulin can be elevated in people with hyperthyroidism.

"The other question I would like to run by you is your opinion on my thyroid problems."
This is a bit outside what I know about professionally. The thyroid gland makes thyroxine, mainly T4 (four iodine atoms, not very active) and some T3 (three iodine atoms, very active) T4 can be converted to T3 in other tissues - this might be what the thyroid site was alluding to by "a conversion to T3 problem".

The info here might help you to ask informed questions when you see the endocrinologist; http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/b...land_explained .

"My last question is about my high ANA of 2560."
That level is very high and suggests one or more auto-immune diseases. The stuff here is worth having a look at - it could let you quiz the clinical immunologist when you see him/her; http://rheuminfo.com/diseases/anti-n...dy-ana-testing .

"We have 27 C here today"
Same here. I had a walk in a short-sleeved shirt, enjoying spring .

Thanks kiwi, great sites. Will definitely help with what I need to ask, and I will get a list ready, including tests to ask for. So, myasthenia gravis does not cause an elevation in ANA titre? I was thinking all autoimmune diseases did. That's debunked my theory. I just read in the link you just posted that scleroderma causes muscle inflammation then weakness. It doesn't explain eye droop, heat intolerance etc. I would be pretty unlucky to have two serious and rare autoimmune diseases. I just have to be patient and wait for test results. I really have so many MG symptoms, but even if I test negative, the medication might give me a better life quality. I can only ask.

That is right though measuring the ANA titre is often done for somebody who may have myasthenia gravis to rule out other possibilities like SLE and schleroderma - the ANA titre is usually high for these.

This (fairly technical) link might help; http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1171206-workup .

Just wanted to let you know I read all your posts. I've been in process of getting my situation figured out too, but for only 5 months compared to your 30 years. My new doctor Neurologist put me on a trial of generic Mestinon which seems to be doing some good for me. I'm lucky to find someone who knows about this. Good luck with your situation. It's not easy dealing with medical issues. I totally understand when you need a rest from other people, or also when it feels good to get out a little with friends. I'm grateful to have people that is showing compassion for my situation and not trying to drag me places when I had no energy to do anything because the simplest things would cause me to have an energy crash.

My husband has been more understand of how I need to be and not tried to pressure to much and realizing thought it took some time that this was real and real serious stuff. It did hurt that our Internist say one visit when he was with me and she said -- I'm not so worried about you, but I'm really worried about her. That really turned him around as he really respects her advise and opinion.

to you and I'm so glad you have a doctor who is really working in your corner to help you. ~ Marr

Default I'm sorry it's taken a year to get back here

Marr, thanks for your kind words. Kiwi, I don't know if you are still around, but I have some tests results to query your kind intelligence. I think I need to post it in autoimmune section, and I will do it tomorrow. I tested negative for MG, but also negative for scleroderma. Two positive ANA titres both 1/2560. One nucleolar stain, the other speckled.
I'm really struggling still. I have been helping my mum the past 12 months, as not long after my posts here, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went with her thru all her chemo. She is doing better, finished chemo, and getting thru the after effects. It's late here, so I will post lab results tomorrow. I will do it in autoimmune. I just wanted to reply, and once again, sorry for the lateness.
