Smile Timespan Mestinon dosage

Hi all,
I have been adding more dosage of Mestinon for some time now. Started at 3 x 60 per day. Now up to 6 x 60.
I went to the Nuro last week, and they suggested I try the 180 Timespan, and drop 1 of the evening 60 mg. I have and seems to be better.
Have any of you used this Timespan, and if so how were you results.
Thanks FREDH

Yes, Timespan works good for me. I've been on several different meds over the past few years, including Imuran and Prednisone and have been able to get off those after increasing the Mestinon. I take 6 x 60 at intervals during the day and one 180 Timespan in the morning and one in the evening and so far so good! My tummy seems to tolerate the Timespan better than more of the 60's.
Good luck!

....Meant to write that I take 3 x 60 Mestinon (not 6 x 60) plus 2 x 180 Timespan a day and it covering my MG quite well, at least for now.

Wow--when I saw that 6 x 60, I didn't know what to think. Anyway 3 x 60 sounds more like it. Thanks so much for this. I also didn't know you could take 2 Timespan a day. I have been worried that I was at max dosage. I have only ben on Timespan for 4 days, but feel better already. Thanks again.
Later -FREDH

Well 6 x 60 = 360 mg total, even with 2 x 180 timespan that would make 720 mg total.

3 x 60 + 2 x 180 is 540 mg.

I am on 6 x 90 mg = 540 mg, and that is not enough, probably going to have to increase to 6 x 120 = 720 mg total.

In actual fact the total per day is not really so important, because of the short half life of this medicine. What is more important is to have the needed level at regular intervals. Every 4 hours is the most common, but that can be as often as every 3 hours, or as long as every 6 hours.

Oh, and Timespan is designed to give you the same effect that 60 mg every 4 hours would give you. The idea being that you take it late at night and it covers you until you wake the next morning, so from 12 until 9.

Thanks FREDH
I'm on timespan, 180 mg in the morning, and another 180 mg in the evening. I find that the literature on daytime timespan is pretty accurate: it fluctuates a LOT during the day. Sometimes I'll feel fully medicated, and then be unable to walk for a half hour, and then be right back to nearly full strength.

That said, I seemed to be fairly weird with the instant Mestinon. It would take over an hour for me to start feeling anything, get only an hour or two of results, and then have to wait awhile to take my next dose. And since it would make me so sick to take it without a full meal, I really couldn't take it as often as I needed to. That's why I got put on the Timespan.

Overall, I spend more of my day medicated while on the Timespan than the instant, but it's a lot less predictable.

Does anybody else notice strange sleep issues with the Mestinon?
