Default dental procedure and antibiotics

I'm going to have a periodontal procedure in two weeks time and was prescribed the antibiotic Amoxicillin 500 mg to combat any potential bacterial infection. Is this safe

Thanks, all.

I don't know if this is important or not, but I forgot to mention that I'm 83 years old.

Default Cipro is the one Black Boxed for MG

That group of antibiotics can have neurological side effects, so stay away from them. Everything else seems to be OK, though.
