Default Statins and MG

I have trouble taking statins for high cholesterol. I believe I saw a reference to Mrs. D in one of the posts - where do I find this person's advice?

Help

Ha! I was just doing the research as you posted, Mike!

Here you go, Nikos. All you need to do is to search a word (i.e., statins) in the search function here.

How high is your cholesterol? 200s or really high?

There are alternatives to statins. I'm no expert though on any of this.

Why use a drug if there is a natural alternative? Although those with really high cholesterol might not have a choice.

Annie

I don't live with MG but a while ago I had a look at what the Cochrane Collaboration thinks about statins. Cochrane is a not-for-profit group which critically examines clinical trials to see how convincing the evidence is for a very wide of medical procedures.

I was surprised to learn just how weak the evidence is for statins reducing cardiovascular disease risk.

My commentary on this is here Statins.
