Default Muscle Weakness Trifecta

My quarterly blood lab review was today. I had previously been right on the cusp of low thyroid and vitamin D insufficiency. Today both had worsened considerably since being diagnosed with MG the last few months. So now there are three conditions which ALL have muscle weakness as symptoms. The encouraging part is now we're attacking the weakness from three directions and not just with Mestinon alone. However, it looks like this is also going to be a marathon since from what I read it looks like it takes several months to see benefits from thyroid and vitamin D supplements.

I've learned I'm not a patient patient.

How can patients be patient when they don't feel good and doctors say that they won't feel better for months!

I'm going to have to disagree with the doctor on this one! It does not take months to see benefits from thyroid meds or vitamin D supplementation!

Many cardiologists (yes, cardio not endo) say that they prefer the natural meds like NatureThroid instead of ones such as Synthroid. FYI Did they feel your thyroid? Did they run the thyroid antibodies?

Find a good vitamin D3 (5000 IUs) supplement. Capsules will absorb better than tablets.

Did they check your B12 as well?

So many of us have more than one thing going on. At least the D and thyroid issues are more easily fixable than MG (with less or no side effects).

If you start having GI tract issues, have them test for celiac disease! LOL

I hope you feel better soon!!!
