Default Eye Rest

So when my eye gets tired & starts acting up, i get pretty bad double vision, especially when trying to read and Especially especially when im trying to read from a screen. The issue is that my work/studies require me to be reading, off a screen or not, and having to stop in the middle of something to rest my eyes is really annoying.

My question is, do any of you have a preferred way of resting just the one eye? I find that it’s hard to keep it closed without exerting a lot of effort (which kind of defeats the purpose, lol). I’ve looked into eyepatches but im not sure if just shutting out light would be effective; would that work or is it better to have something that holds it closed?

Thanks in advance!
