Has anybody had the experience of IVIG for MG causing Stiff Person Syndrome symptoms through raised GAD65 Ab (antibodies)? I admit to never having been the most physically relaxed person, even before IVIG, and many of the "typical patient profile" descriptions have long been true, but my spasms have gotten markedly worse since starting IVIG treatment a year ago for Myasthenic crisis.
I'm starting on Baclofen after Flexoril was a big 0. Getting another antibody test at the end of this IVIG cycle. Has anyone had this happen *from* IVIG? Does anyone know what the deciding factor is in telling if one is causing the other, or if I do truly have SPS in adddition to MG? |

Stiff Person Syndrome is a known side-effect of the presence anti-GD65 antibodies.

Yes, indeed. Thank you, kiwi33. I am wondering if other MG patients on forum have had SPS result from IVIG treatment. I know that can happen. It is currently unclear which came first in my case. Was the SPS present in lesser form before I started on IVIG? It has certainly ramped up since starting the treatment. This is all such a mystery, since IVIG is also used to treat SPS.
