Default It's been awhile....

A few years of doing pretty well (30 mg pyridostigmine PRN), but had a flare last week that put me in the hospital for 6 days, CPAP support and five days of IVIG. It's been slowly building since spring and finally fully hit last Satrurday.

Will be following up with my neurologist on 10/14 with the idea being to start immunosuppressant therapy. A lab came back today (prometheus thiopurine metabolites) which leads me to believe he's considering Imuran.

Anyone know if this test is a precursor to any other meds that I might start researching in the meantime? Questions I might prepare to ask when I have my appointment? Any thoughts or experiences you can share about Imuran?

Also, does anyone know why a neurologist would want to choose immunosuppression drugs instead of ongoing IVIG for treatment?

This information, including reported side effects for Imuran might help you.

I have taken it from a search of Drugs.com | Prescription Drug Information, Interactions & Side Effects.
