Default statins and MG

I have always had trouble taking statins - have tried most of them. Recently was taking 2 a week and getting along OK..then dr. said for me to take 3 a week. My myasthenia symptoms got worse - weakness in talking and chewing - Neurologist said stop statins - so I have done that. My primary doctor has not prescribed any further meds for cholesterol since I am 80. Have any of you had similar occurrences? Sort of makes me feel that since I am 80 I am on borrowed time anyway, so no need to medicate. That is not my way of viewing life.
