Default Hello!

My eye pain is a throbbing, hurts down to the bone, makes me stay up and cry kind of pain. I also experience watery eyes and lots of pressure. I just had a complete chest/sinus x-ray and my results were normal.

I think my steroids are the culprit, b/c I have had migraines all of my life, but have never had pain like that b/4.

In fact, the night b/4 my trip I was up till 4:00 with pain that just would not go away. I finally had to take 2 pain pills in order to get some relief.

When I start to have pain like that it always scares me. I was going to have my hubby take me to the emergency room if the pills didn't help.

I'm going back in for more testing ASAP for glaucoma, cuz' my eye pressure has gone up 10 points since I started on the roids'............. Not a good sign!

Take care!
Erin

Erin,
The pressure of one of my eyes went up to 32, the other to 28 and they are now both back to 16/18. I take eye drops twice a day (mornings and evenings), I will see after the next eye test whether the anomalies in the vision field still persist.
I hope you'll see your ophtalmologist pretty soon.
Maurice.

My daughter Leah (age 8, severe ocular symptoms) complains that her eyes hurt a lot. The docs tell me it's not part of the MG but we know it is. She never ever had that pain until the MG started, and she got a clean bill of health from the opthalmologist and optometrist.

Hi Pat, welcome to neuroTalk.

I'm so very sorry that your daughter is suffering from eye pain.

I don't have MG.... I have MS, and my worst symptom is eye pain. I take an anti epileptic medication which helps some, and if your daughter's eye pain is due to nerve pain like mine is, maybe something similar might help.

I do hope she gets relief soon. Hugs to your daughter.

My eyes hurt a lot in the morning. It's because my lids do not close tightly at night and my corneas become dry. This could be little Leah's problem as well. You could try a lubricating ointment at night (sold over the counter) and see if she feels better.

Crazy

My left eye aches so bad.....they both get "blurry" and I have to blink alot...the ache seems to stop after I take my mestinon dose..but it only returns a few hours later...when next dose is due...

The blurred vision remains...a constant annoynance...

Default Isn't that a pain in the butt.......?

Yep! Welcome to the club! MY eyes give me major grief - especially right b/4 I have to go back for IV IG...........that's when my neuro decides I need to go back to the hospital - AUGH!!!!!!!

Are you on any other meds? Mestinon is great stuff, but only when you take it with food, otherwise it tears my stomach up! Unfortunately (for me), Mestinon wasn't enough and that's why I had to take the roids.........

How are you doing? Are you feeling better?

Hang in there and try and take it easy! Try and gets lots of rest..........
easier said than done, I know

Erin

Default Her eye muscles are weak........

Hey there! Sorry to hear your little girl isn't feeling well........Hopefully she'll feel better really soon!!!!!

When my eyes hurt like that, it's b/c my eye muscles are so weak that they start "swimming" around in my head.......not comfortable @ all!!!!

Once I have my IV IG or the other, my eyes go right back to normal, so you may want to talk to your neuro about that.......Not fun, but it really helps!

Give your dd a big hug for me! She's waaaaaay too young to have to deal with all of this!

Any input would be appreciated!!!

ERin
I had been having a flare up for about 3 weeks, with crazy double vision, when the weakness worsen I went to the ER. I eyes were killling me.....ofcourse I told the doctor this ......and she insured me that it wasnt and MG issue......like they know more about your body and your disease works than you do.........the pain was in the very back of my eyes and moved forward to cover them in pain completey.
