Do ya'll have really bad eye pain when your eyes start to go wonky? I cannot figure out why they hurt so much!!
I was on the MS site, and it seems to be par for the course for them, but haven;t noticed any threads on our site regarding it.......... Any input would be appreciated!!! ERin

It's likely a muscle spasm. I occasionally get that, although it's more of an ache. I also get terrible sharp pains due to dry eye, especially at night, because I have trouble closing my lids all the way. That pain will go away with the use of eyewashes, tho.
Take care, Missy |

Hi Erin,
Did you have your eyes checked for glaucoma? Because steroids can cause the inner eye pressure to rise and that might lead to (apart from severe vision problems, including cecity if not treated) eye pain… Good luck with your IVIG, I had two series but they never installed a PICC line, just a small needle (I do not know the name) on the back of one hand and it was changed after 3 days… Maurice. |

My eye pain is a throbbing, hurts down to the bone, makes me stay up and cry kind of pain. I also experience watery eyes and lots of pressure. I just had a complete chest/sinus x-ray and my results were normal.
I think my steroids are the culprit, b/c I have had migraines all of my life, but have never had pain like that b/4. In fact, the night b/4 my trip I was up till 4:00 with pain that just would not go away. I finally had to take 2 pain pills in order to get some relief. When I start to have pain like that it always scares me. I was going to have my hubby take me to the emergency room if the pills didn't help. I'm going back in for more testing ASAP for glaucoma, cuz' my eye pressure has gone up 10 points since I started on the roids'............. Not a good sign! Take care! Erin

Erin,
The pressure of one of my eyes went up to 32, the other to 28 and they are now both back to 16/18. I take eye drops twice a day (mornings and evenings), I will see after the next eye test whether the anomalies in the vision field still persist. I hope you'll see your ophtalmologist pretty soon. Maurice. |

My daughter Leah (age 8, severe ocular symptoms) complains that her eyes hurt a lot. The docs tell me it's not part of the MG but we know it is. She never ever had that pain until the MG started, and she got a clean bill of health from the opthalmologist and optometrist.
