Hi there
I'm still at that frustrating stage of finding a firm diagnosis. I have Graves Disease and had a Thyroid Storm some 2 and a half/3 years ago, and have been on a block and replace programme for 2 years, which my consultant stopped last week. He feels the best thing is to just see what happens to the symptoms now I am 'drug free'. I have been to see my Osteopath today and he suggested I get tested for MG as I have generalised muscle weakness as well as peripheral neuropathy, dropping eyelids, some double vision, achey eyes, swollen but not painful throat, hoarse voice, clumsiness, brain fog, etc. The weakness has got worse lately (it gets much better when I rest, then as soon as I start doing things it seems to get a lot worse each time) that I now have to use a walking stick most of the time. Does anyone else have peripheral neuropathy as part of their symptoms? I'm not sure if this could be a related condition or whether the MG is just not an option with peripheral neuropathy being present. Many thanks Sue |
