Default Any one got Humana Insurance?

I got a total shock yesterday when I received an envelope with a coupon book, a bundle of envelopes, and a letter from Humana insurance saying that they had been unable to process my request to have my premium taken out of my SSD payment, and would I mind sending them all of the back premiums! Ten months worth!!!! "Sorry for any incovenience this has caused you" Right!! You think they would have figured it out and notified me a little bit sooner. I'll have to take the money out of savings now to pay for it, but what about all of the poor people that have no savings.
Of course, I should have noticed that it wasn't being taken out, but I've got direct deposit, and had lost track of how much my benefit amount is. I knew my Medicare premium was being taken out, and just assumed the added premium was coming out too.
Anyone else had this problem from Humana?
I usually sign off with hugs, but I'm too totally bummed out right now to hug anyone!!!

Lois, sorry to hear about your insurance premium not being taken out of your SSD payment. That is a bummer! Yuck! It is good that you have the money, but your are right--what about the people who don't have any savings.........?

Confused Humana Coupon Books!!!The 'Real'Scoop....

Unfortunately I wish I could tell you all that the real scoop is what most people pick up after they walk their pets, but alas, the truth is ever so much more interesting.

My husband and I are Hur. Kat. survivors and we are relocated in Hot Springs, AR. We have being going through hell with Humana. We have after a year of them refusing to pay a hospital bill for my husband contacted the Secretary of Insurance in our State of Louisiana and they responded very quickly to Humana in our behalf even to go to the lengths to start FINING them. Now folks, that's the way to get these In-Humana corporate execs attention. Right there in the pocket book. Just like this latest rediculous letter we received stating:

1.We know you signed up on our plan April 1, 2006 (a forewarning?) and we are sending you this coupon book of nine months of NOT HAVING PAYMENTS DEDUCTED FROM MY SS CHECK AND MY HUSBAND ALSO.

2. This means I owe Humana $756.00 ... either now or I can double my current payments:$84.00 to $168 a month because THEY MADE A MISTAKE!

3. Needless to say $168.00 a month for my husband and I are a house note or the electric bill.

So I caled Humana and they blamed it on Social Security and I called, of course, Social Security and they said they never received a request from Humana to deduct this premium. SO WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?

I gotta say, WRITE YOUR SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE YOU LIVE IN ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. This is the only way we can have our voices heard.

Sincerely,

Spacechick in Exile from Hot Springs, AR orig. from New Orleans, La

Aggravating, isn't it, Spacechick! Fortunately, there was only one of me, so I didn't get hurt quite as bad as you did!
Yet, despite this, I think I would recommend Humana to others. They've been a very good insurance company in every other respect. The doctors seem quick to accept it, and they seem to pay really promptly.
Hugs,
