Unhappy Yep - that's MG!!!

Oh Alan! I am so sorry to hear that! I started having problems breathing last xmas, but b/c I am a smoker (or was) I chalked it up to that........I was moving a giant ficus and started wheezing - scary!!!!

I am on Singulair and Rhinocort for breathing - you may want to ask your dr about both of those meds...............The main thing is to get to your doc and tell him/her what is going on.....you don't want to get really, really sick!

How was your visit with your daughter? Was is as great as you thought it would be? I am so jealous! I wish I was in England right now! I keep hoping for a white xmas here! We actually had snow the other night! I woke my poor son up @ 1:00 to show it to him!!!

In the mean time, please take it easy and see your doc ASAP!!!! Maybe they need to play with your meds a little bit b/c I haven't had ANY problems since I started in the roids!!!

Have a wonderful Christmas! Take care!
Erin

Alan,

Yes, it sounds like MG. You have to remember, the arms are attached to your chest. What you do with them will affect your chest muscles. Everything's connected!

Thumbs up Hello Alan!

Are you feeling better? How has your breathing been?

I am gearing up for our xmas party - my hubby loves to have parties - me not so much!

Still, I am feeling very festive and very lucky, as last year I was too weak to even decorate my home or tree........ God has been very good to me!

Have you spoken with your doc? Did you tell them about your breathing problems? Just make sure to write everything down, as MG really affects some people's memories..........I know it does mine!!!!

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!

Erin

PLease, please, please do not overdo it! Just try and take it ez until your doc adjusts your meds..............

Hi Alan,
I agree with the others - yep it's probably MG. I haven't had any massive problems with my breathing, but a couple of times when I was exerting myself walking quickly I lost my breath. After calming myself and relaxing for a few seconds it came back. I was panicked the first time it happened because I was alone but once I calmed down everything was fine. I agree with Erin though - you should probably try to take it easy until you get your medications sorted out. I keep saying the samething to my Dad - he was diagnosed a year ago with MS and he is still shovelling his drive and the "elderly neighbour's" too (he doesn't realise that he is now an elderly neighbour himself). Ha ha!

Take care of yourself and enjoy the holidays!

Allan, so neat that your visit with the kiddo was nice! Always a blessing.
As to the breathing, sounds like MG to me as well. I remember way back when I was not even a year into MG, I got aggrevated that I couldn't do things anymore. So I got out the lectric mower (we had riding mower for the acreage, but the push mower for around the fences and tree line and such.) Not a big job at all as I remembered it. Anyways, everyone was somewhere. I pulled that blasted cord half a dozen times till the mower finally kicked over. Off I went being very careful to walk slowly and leisurely mow. After 5mins or so, I could barely stand up. I had to almost crawl back into the house. Breathing was tanked totally, arms and legs were nothing but jello. First and last time with MG I mowed with the walk behind mower.
We have to remember that when we use our arms...we are also engaging the muscles in the chest. So they weaken right along with the rest of our muscles.
do touch base with the doc on your next visit (so long as you are having no further issues that need IMMEDIATE attention) with the doc.
Try to take things easy. STOP---THINK----THEN move forward if all evaluates out to be doable.
Hugs
Deb

Hi!

Lungs are definitely impacted by MG.

My daughter had MG and the hospital conducted a battery of tests, including a pulmonary (lung) test. Her breathing was mildly affected by MG. Understand that proper breathing is critical and if the lungs are severely impacted, it can lead to a crisis mode.

So, I would talk with my Neurologist regarding this matter.

Thanks.

Rohm.
