Default Single fibre emg study

I just got a call out of the blue from my neurologist. He tells me he wants to do a single fibre emg study on me. Can anybody tell me what this involves. I had emg studies done where they shock the muscles and put the lovely needles in a variety of muscles. I can't say I enjoyed it.I would love to hear from anybody who has had this done.
